University Pathologists, LLC is an independent pathology practice group comprised of:

  • 10 cytopathologists
  • 3 molecular pathologists
  • 3 blood bank transfusion specialists
  • 30 surgical pathologists
  • 1 bone and podiatric pathologist
  • 1 flow cytometrist
  • 12 pathologist assistants

Our practice model is based on multi-specialty pathology, which enables us to bring highly specialized services to community hospitals and private practices. We are the only independent pathology group in the state of Rhode Island that is able to bill directly for our services. Currently, we service eleven hospitals in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Collectively, we handle more than 100,000 surgical cases and 60,000 cytology specimens annually.
