A graduate of Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucarest, Romania, Dr. Stancu completed her residency at Brown University. She completed fellowships in gastrointestinal pathology at Boston University, hematopathology at Harvard University Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and oncologic surgical pathology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Dr. Stancu is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and specializes in gastrointestinal pathology. She is currently Director of the Gastrointestinal Pathology Fellowship Program.
